Brothers Chris and Will Haughey founded Tegu with the vision of making a difference in the lives and economy of the people of Honduras, where 65% of the population lives below the poverty line. They invented Tegu blocks, magnetic wooden building blocks that inspire creative, open-ended play. Tegu blocks are responsibly manufactured with the company's commitment to sustainability and education in mind.

Collaborative play, social shopping
In November 2010 Tegu launched "Tegu Live", bringing viewers an interactive playground where they could tangibly experience Tegu's magnetic wooden blocks from their living room. Daily deals offered on the homepage gave shoppers the opportunity to earn free shipping and Tegu product bundles by sharing their purchase via Twitter and Facebook.

How do you build the Large Hadron Collider? A cupcake? A unicorn fighting a narwhal? The Tegu Genius–Tegu's master builder–hosted a daily, three-hour long live show on tegu.com where viewers could place requests via Twitter and watch the Tegu Genius bring them to life in real-time.
